Korea Festival Support Center (KFSC)— a private, non-governmental center

KFSC supports the people who make festivals in Korea through research, training, consulting and a practitioner community. This page is our English contact point for festivals, festival associations, researchers and media outside Korea.

Please note

KFSC is not a government agency and does not act on behalf of the Korean government or any public body. It is an affiliate institution of (사)한국문화기획학교, a Korean incorporated association. Information on this page describes KFSC’s own activities only.

ABOUT

What KFSC does

Most of our publications are currently in Korean. English summaries are in preparation.

Festival case studies

We research and publish best-practice cases from Korean and overseas festivals, organised by eleven operational areas such as safety, finance, programming and sustainability.

Policy digests

We summarise Korean public policy that affects festivals, written for people who run festivals.

Training

We run training for festival directors and festival practitioners in Korea.

Consulting

We advise festival organisers on specific operational problems.

Practitioner community

We host Festival Ground, an online community of people who make festivals in Korea.

COLLABORATION

How we can work together

Collaboration can start small. We usually begin with an exchange of information before any formal agreement.

Information exchange

Share publications, research and data, with sources credited on both sides.

Expert exchange

Speak at a KFSC forum, or meet Korean festival practitioners during a visit to Korea.

Joint research and events

Work together on a research question, a seminar or a roundtable.

Study visits

Discuss programmes for Korean festival professionals who wish to learn from your festival or city.

PROCESS

How it works

  1. Write to us

Tell us who you are and what you would like to do together. English or Korean is fine.

  2. We reply

We confirm the right person on our side and reply by email.

  3. We agree the scope

Format, roles, costs and what will be made public are agreed in writing.

  4. We work together

Results are recorded, and published only with both sides' consent.

Good to know

  • We name partner organisations on our website only after both sides have agreed in writing.
  • KFSC does not sell travel. For study visits, flights and accommodation are arranged through a registered travel agency; KFSC covers the educational programme only.
  • Our international exchange programmes are in preparation. We do not yet run scheduled visits.
